Vinings Newborn Photographer
When I became a photographer 8 years ago, I never would have imagined I would be a Vinings Newborn Photographer. Not really just Vinings, anywhere. Newborn babies used to scare me to death. I love babies, always have, but before I knew more about posing newborns, I found the sessions very frustrating. They can take a long time, parents are often a little nervous about handing over their brand new baby to a total stranger, and the babies are still learning how to eat if they’re nursing.
Fast forward to November of this past year, I happened upon two photographers that were offering a workshop that I decided, kind of on a whim, to attend. When I spoke with my husband about the workshop, I was sure he would say no. Being the super supportive man that he is, he said “yes, if you think this will be worth it to you and your business, go for it.” It’s not like he was simply granting me permission to go, and to spend the money on the workshop, he was agreeing to handle our four children by himself while I was gone. That is no small task…they, at the time, were 18 months, 4, 6, and 7 years old. They are busy, and are always a handful.
When I got back from the workshop, it took me a few babies to find my groove. I was pretty frustrated, and wondering why I couldn’t just put my babies into the poses so effortlessly like the photographers did at the workshop. If the babies were fussy, I got nervous fast, and wasn’t confident in how to reassure their parents. But now, nearly 8 months later, I am feeling so different than I felt just a few months ago.
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Jase in my studio. Jase was perfect! He went into every pose with ease, and I don’t think I heard him fuss at all, the entire time he was with me. Take a look at Jase’s session..if you like what you see, I’d love the opportunity to photograph your newborn! Click here to check out my package and pricing options.
