Two year old sessions aren’t something I do every day!  But, when my youngest kiddo turned two, it was a must!  I posted about his crazy birth and our NICU journey with him here.  He had a rough start, but is totally fine and thriving now!  I don’t often get “artistic visions” for how I see my own kids pictures going. Usually, I’m pretty happy if all 4 kids, or whoever was my subject at the time, are accounted for, and kind of looking at the camera.  Better still if there was a smile involved.  But..let’s be honest.  This wasn’t my first rodeo with trying to get a toddler to smile at me, and my own kids tend to fall at the very end of the spectrum when it comes to agreeability for pictures.  I’m sure they’re over it.  I think there’s even a name for it..Photographers Child Syndrome…where they either look the other way, or act like complete fools because they know that’s not what I want.  I’ve gotten off track though!  Back to the vision…when I was pregnant with Avett I fell in love with this really cute, newsboys looking outfit.  I ordered it for him, and when he was 8 weeks old and finally home from the hospital, I squeezed him into it.

But then one day the heavens parted.  I had been downstairs tidying up my studio and he was underfoot..as always.  I asked him if he wanted to put on his cute hat and do some pictures for mommy, and he said  ” uh-huh”…that’s Avett speak for yes.  He’s a tad language delayed, but since we have 3 non-stop talkers, I’m taking that for the gift that it is!   Anyways..I grabbed his jeans, popped him into his clothes, and got these beauties!  I honestly could not have imagined these turning out as cute as they did with him.  He had a rare few minutes of total agreeability and I am so in love with these pictures!

Here’s my cute little two year old man!
