Atlanta Newborn Photography

I get to meet the cutest babies while running my Atlanta newborn photography business.  This sweet family came to me for their maternity session as well, which you can see here.  Sweet Alexandra is the best big sister and was so proud of her new baby!  I used to dread when siblings came for newborn sessions, but I have grown to love including siblings with newborn sessions.  It’s such a sweet connection to capture.  The excitement is still there over the new baby, and they’re usually a bit protective as well.

This newborn session was about a week before Christmas, so we added some Christmas touches to the session.

How to prepare for your Atlanta Newborn Photography session

The question I get most often prior to a newborn session, is clients asking if they need to bring anything.  The short answer is no!  I have a large collection of props for girls and boys. My studio has outfits, rompers, headbands, sleepy hats, swaddle wraps, and backdrops.  I keep diapers, wipes, and pacifiers in my studio as well.  I have a nice, comfortable area for parents to sit during the session.  All you need to bring for me, is baby!  If you are doing family and sibling photos, I am happy to discuss clothing options and ideas prior to the session.

A couple of days prior to the session, I will send you a parent prep letter.  It has some tips and tricks for things that have helped past clients sessions go smoothly.  Nothing is black and white with a newborn, so I always tell people to just do their best, and we’ll figure the rest out!

How to Schedule your Atlanta Newborn Photography Session

Since planning a due date isn’t always something we can do in advance, here’s how we schedule your session.  Once you book me for your newborn photographer, I will pencil your due date onto my calendar. When you get an induction date, or have a scheduled c-section, let me know, and we can tentatively plan your session for 7-14 days prior to your delivery.  If you go into labor on your own, please contact me as soon as possible to let me know you’ve delivered the baby, and we will schedule your session for 7-14 days prior to your delivery.

Now, that 7-14 day window isn’t a “drop dead” window.  Some moms and babies need a little more time at home before their session, and that is fine.  I understand that recoveries can be difficult, and new parents are exhausted.  I want to make this as stress free of an experience for you as possible.
