Atlanta Maternity Photographer
As an Atlanta Maternity Photographer, I often get the chance to meet my clients before their newborn session. I love getting to know future newborn clients a little bit before their session. Hopefully, meeting me ahead of time also helps brand new parents feel a little more at ease about handing me their less than 2 week old baby!
I met this sweet family about 6-8 weeks before their baby boy was due. Miss Ella is right at 2 years old, and stayed true to the course of being a busy and fun toddler. Her shoes, were squeakers! I LOVE squeakers. We’ve always had dogs, as long as we’ve had kids, so I’ve never bought them for my own kids for fear that a dog would mistake the shoe for a chew toy. Hearing little Ella squeak squeak each step we took was so fun for me!
When to Schedule your Maternity Session
As an atlanta maternity photographer, I’m often asked “when should we do our maternity session?” I prefer to do them before 36 weeks, because often, babies can make a surprise debut a few weeks early. I think anytime between 30-36 weeks is a great time to do maternity photos. Generally, the last four weeks of pregnancy, (for me anyways), moms are swollen and kind of over being pregnant! Scheduling maternity photos for the 30-36 week range, hopefully catches mom when she is glowing, and still feels beautiful.
I currently offer on location maternity photos. This means that once you book me to do your maternity session, we will discuss location options, that are outdoors. Sunset is my favorite time of day to capture maternity photos. That’s what time we did this session, and as you can see, the light was just beautiful. Maternity sessions take anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on whether or not you would like siblings included in your session. It can be a session focusing on just mom, on mom and dad, or more of a family session simply to document the moment in time that you had before growing your family!
Maternity and Newborn Package
If you’re interested in a maternity session, it may make sense to book a newborn session as well, and package them together. Currently, I offer maternity and newborn session packages that you can see on my pricing page. I can also customize a package for you, if you’re looking for something outside of what I currently have posted on my page. I realize that everyone wants something different, and have priced out what I am asked about the most. Right now, all of my pricing is “all inclusive” which means that my session fee includes 15-20 fully edited images. I do offer printing services, but you are not required to print through me. The labs that I use are professional printing labs, that I have ordered test prints from to make sure color and quality are acceptable to me. I’ve seen differences from non pro labs that range from color quality differences (my original may have been great for skin tones, while a non professional retailer is more orange or green), to sharpness differences. I stand behind the vendors that I use. Just something to take into consideration when you are printing your photos.
