Atlanta Family Photographer

This adorable family braved the heat and humidity to let me do my thing as their Atlanta family photographer. These kids were troopers..as were their parents. It was HOT that day.  In Atlanta, hot and humid tend to go hand in hand!  I feel like I relate pretty well to boys, since I have 3 of my own.  Their oldest was into bugs and lizards..and all things boyish.  We happen to have lizards at our house, so we were fast friends.

At my family sessions, I try to incorporate some playful, fun shots along with some posed shots.  You will not usually hear me yelling “SAY CHEESE” at your children:) It’s just not my thing! I will, however, be silly, and goofy, and act completely ridiculous to get your kiddos to smile and have fun.

When to schedule your Atlanta family photographer session

I am moving towards doing all of my sessions at sunset. You honestly cannot beat the end of the day light, and I want to be able to offer my very best work to my clients.  I feel that my very best work is when the lighting is best.  The light is the best either very early in the day, or at the end of the day.  While I do understand that this can be  a little tricky with nap times for my younger clients, it is my hope that for one day the nap time can be tweaked for pictures.

Any time of the year, in Georgia works for scheduling outdoor photos.  I do find that the weather is far less predictable from December-early March.  The rest of the year though, the weather in the south is pretty agreeable for outdoor photography!

Planning your session

My busiest time of year for outdoor photo sessions is hands down, the fall.  From around mid-September until the middle of November, I am usually booked pretty steadily.  If you are looking to book a fall session, this is something to keep in mind.  I do take a limited number of sessions on the weekends so that I can still enjoy my own family, so planning ahead is key.  Generally, my fall clients have doing their session and having that wonderful picture for their holiday card in mind.  I try to finish up all of my fall sessions prior to Thanksgiving so that I have enough time to return the images to my clients for them to order holiday cards.

How to book with me
