Atlanta Newborn Photographer

The majority of my Atlanta newborn photographer clients find me online, or through word of mouth.  However, I have known sweet Baby John’s mama since she was a tyke.  Her family moved down the street from my family when I was in the 7th grade.  John’s mama, was 3-4 years old.  My love for children has been something I have always had, and still do have. I immediately went to her parents house to introduce myself as a babysitting prospect.  I ended up babysitting for their family for years, and once they moved out of state even visited them. This is a great family.   They now live in the Chattanooga area, which isn’t too far from Atlanta, and is actually even on the way between Atlanta and Nashville.  I travel to Nashville fairly often since my own family is there!  All of this is getting to my explanation of how this session was a bit different than my studio sessions.

Lifestyle Newborn Session

Lifestyle newborn sessions aren’t something that I get requests for very often, but I always find that I enjoy them when I do them.  Since driving to Atlanta was a bit much for John’s sweet mama since he’s got an older brother who isn’t even 2 yet, I stopped in Chattanooga to do his session at their home on my way home from visiting Nashville. It just happened to work out perfectly.

Baby John was so sweet and easy, and I had stopped by World Market on my way to their house to grab a couple of things to help me with his session.  A couple of scarves and a cute basket later, and I was ready to go!  This session was so much fun, and I even got to visit with John’s mama a little while I was there.

What IS a lifestyle Newborn Session

The majority of the Atlanta newborn photographer sessions I do are studio newborn sessions. However, if you’d prefer a lifestyle session, I do offer those. Here is the difference. Lifestyle sessions usually take place at the clients home.   I would come to you. I would bring my camera, and maybe a few props, and a basket or two.  The options would be quite a bit more minimal since I’d be traveling. However,  if you’re set on having photos in your home, that may be perfect for you.  Ideally, my preference would be to come by the home prior to the day of the session and see what the lighting is like, so that I know what I’m working with and what room would be best for the session.

The day of the session, I would have you either put a space heater in the room we’d be shooting in. This would help make sure baby stays warm and comfortable for the duration of the session.
