I recently got to see Miss Malaine again for her sitter session. I very first got to meet this sweet girl about 10 months ago for her fresh 48 session. A couple of weeks later, we got together again for her newborn session. She was a very easy newborn, and is still a super easy baby. You can see her fresh 48 session here, and then her newborn session can be seen here. It has been truly enjoyable for me to get to watch her grow.
Sitter sessions are a nice change of pace for me from the lengthy newborn sessions that I do more often. Sitter sessions are usually a good bit faster, as babies this age lose interest in sitting still pretty quickly. Most sitter sessions last about 30-45 minutes if baby isn’t afraid of strangers! Malaine’s session was so much fun and she was so cute and agreeable!
What age to schedule a sitter session?
If you’re considering scheduling a sitter session for your baby, here are a couple of things to consider. The baby needs to be a sturdy sitter. Brand new sitters still topple over a good bit, and it wouldn’t make for a pleasant session if baby topples on the wooden flooring in my studio and gets a bump. Another thing to consider is trying to get the session scheduled for after they are great sitters, but before they are crawling everywhere! Babies that are seasoned crawlers or almost walkers generally don’t care for being very still for very long at all! A baby that has been sitting on their own for about a month is the perfect age, in my opinion! This usually falls between 6-8 months, but every baby is different.
I try to keep sitter sessions pretty quick and simple. I have rompers for both boys and girls to choose from, and bowls, blankets, and furry rugs as well. I’d love to capture your little one’s sitter session! Please contact me to schedule yours today!
