I recently had the privilege of capturing this sweet and tiny newborn baby girl.  She weighed about 5 lbs at birth, and is the cutest little peanut.  I love that I get to capture such new lives, in their first few weeks.  The tiny details…puckered lips, cute little fingers and toes, and sweet sleepy smiles.   As a mom to 4 of my own kids, I know and appreciate how quickly this time passes by.

When you come to my Atlanta area studio, I have everything we need to make your session easy. You can see images of the inside of my studio here.   I keep a good supply of blankets, baby wraps, headbands, rompers, and pant and hat sets in my studio for my newborn clients to use.  While I do have some colorful props, the majority of my collection of options is more neutral.  I love trying to keep my images and outfits as timeless as possible, so that wherever you would like to display it, it will always fit right in!

If your newborn isn’t your first child, you are welcome to bring older siblings for the beginning of the session.  I encourage parents to maybe have dad or a grandparent available to spend some special time with older siblings after their portion of the session is finished.  This helps them to get some great one on one time, as well as keeps the studio environment nice and quiet for the newborn session.

When to schedule your session

It is not often that we can schedule to the day, when a newborn baby will arrive.  If you’d like to schedule a session, it’s helpful to schedule it as soon as possible.  Once you are on my calendar, I will pencil in the due date, and then we will touch base once your little one has arrived.  I generally try to schedule the newborn session within the first 5-21 days of life.  Once you pass that 3 week mark, babies are much more awake, and much less likely to be messed with and stay asleep.
