Newborn Photographer Atlanta

One of my favorite parts of being an newborn photographer Atlanta, is that I get to snuggle sweet, perfect, babies like Solomon.   About 6-8 weeks before Solomon was born, I met his parents and ADORABLE big sisters for a family maternity session. You can see those pictures here.   His big sisters were so sweet and proud of their new brother when they came for his newborn session.

How to incorporate siblings

As an newborn photographer Atlanta I am often asked  if  older children can participate in the newborn session.  Absolutely.  I generally suggest that the siblings come to the first half hour of the session.  That is plenty of time to get all of the sibling shots that we need in.  Then dad, grandma, whoever, can take them home, or to go do something fun.  I try to keep my studio area calm and very quiet, and warm during newborn sessions.  If older siblings are running around, calm and quiet are at risk:) If you school aged kids and can’t make it to the newborn session, I will offer to meet your family for an outdoor mini session to get a few family photos of everyone with the new baby.  My goal, is for each family to love their photos.

When to schedule a newborn session

It is usually best to schedule your session with a newborn photographer Atlanta either late in your second trimester or early in your third to make sure you get on my schedule.  I don’t usually book myself solid, since I do have young kids of my own, and life is often unpredictable!  If you didn’t get around to it in time, still definitely call me and see if I’m available.  I will do my best to fit you in.  Once you do schedule your session, I put your due date on my calendar.  Once you either have delivered the baby, or have a scheduled date, let me know.  We will schedule your session for sometime within the next 1-3 weeks.

What to bring to your newborn session

My studio has everything you need for your newborn photographer Atlanta session, from props and blankets, to diapers and wipes.  All I need you to bring is the baby, and milk.  Let me handle the rest. I know new parents are exhausted.  I would love for you to prop your feet up, and even catch a nap. I will take care of soothing, posing, and if you have a bottle, even feeding your baby.

What to expect at a newborn session

Often, if it’s your first baby, you may ask your newborn photographer Atlanta what to expect at your newborn session.  First and foremost, I keep my studio very warm so that your baby is nice and comfy not all bundled up.  I keep the studio at around 85-88 degrees.  I dress for this.  If you are going to hang out in the room with us, you should too:)  I also try to warn parents, dads especially, that newborn sessions can take anywhere from 1-3 hours.  It just varies from baby to baby.  Some babies come here, and take a while to get settled and sleep, and others arrive in a deep sleep, and don’t open their eyes the entire time.  Some babies need to take a feeding break, others don’t.  Contact me now to book your newborn session.  I would love to work with you and your family.
