Newborn Photography Atlanta

While doing my amazing job of  Newborn Photography Atlanta, I am fortunate enough to meet some really sweet and cuddly babies.  Ariana came to see me this past week.  We initially planned to do her session when she was about 1-2 weeks old.  However, true to the nature of newborns and recovery, things didn’t go quite as planned.  Ariana was nearly 10 lbs and her mama needed a little extra time to recover. She even had a small scar still on her cheek from where the forceps were used during the delivery.  Her mama requested we leave it instead of photoshopping it out, since it was part of her story.  I absolutely love that.

How to Prepare for your newborn photography Atlanta session

Not all newborn photography Atlanta sessions look the same.  I have some general tips that I send to my clients a day or two prior to our session, but of course there are some things that are out of my control.  Miss Ariana traveled nearly two hours to come to my studio the day of her session.  Part of my suggested prep is to keep baby awake for 1-2 hours prior to their session. Obviously, with Ariana this was just about impossible since cars make most newborns sleep!  Since I am very patient, and an excellent swaddler, I was able to get Ariana to sleep, only after we captured a few adorable shots of her with her eyes open.

When to schedule your newborn session

Most mamas like to have all their ducks in a row a good bit before baby makes his or her arrival.  It is best to schedule your session with me sometime around the 2nd and 3rd trimesters.  I do have children of my own, so I only book newborns 2-3 days a week.  I also only offer newborns on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the school year.  During the summer months, I am able to be a little more flexible since I’m not working around my own kids preschool schedules.  All that said, if you waited util the last minute, and would still like to try to book with me, please, call me!  Since I do have children of my own, I completely understand and realize that the nature of children is often unpredictable.  I usually keep enough space open to fit someone in (or take a sick day with my kids if need be.)

What to bring to your newborn session

I have a studio with everything we need for your newborn session. There is a wonderful selection of headbands, rompers for both boys and girls, and cute hats.  I also have a good variety of blankets that I use as backdrops and wraps for swaddling.  I also have several bowls, and baskets in the studio as well.

Ariana’s Photos

I hope you enjoy looking at Ariana’s beautiful newborn pictures. She was absolutely gorgeous and had the best head of hair I’ve seen in a while!  Contact me now to schedule your own newborn photography Atlanta session.
