Mini Sessions

Mini Sessions are shorter sessions, that I try to offer once or twice a year..  I offered a few in Georgia, and one weekend in Virginia.   My family moved to Georgia from Virginia about 18 months ago.  I managed to luck into being in Virginia for their peak fall leaves, and we got some amazing pictures from our  sessions.  It was great to catch up with sweet friends, and see kids that I’ve been photographing since they were little.    In the past I have traveled to TN for sessions, and I honestly enjoy getting to branch out from the areas I’ve gotten familiar with and push myself to find new locations.

Family sessions have become something I really look forward to.  Particularly when I have the opportunity to watch families grow, and change each year. It’s such an honor to me to have the chance to capture families year after year.  I was so excited to have enough people that wanted to book a session this fall out of state.

Difference between Mini and Full Sessions

I have several clients each year ask to book mini or full sessions, and ask what the difference is.   Here are a few things to help sort out the differences.  I only offer  mini sessions on certain days, and within those days, sessions are booked back to back in 30 minute time slots.  Each session is about 25 minutes.  Mini sessions receive less images as well.  Mini sessions receive 5-7 images, where full sessions receive between 20-25.

I love mini sessions, but mini sessions are not ideal for kids that might need a little more time to warm up to a new person.  A full session would be the better option for younger, busier, kids!  Full sessions are also a great option if you prefer a variety of background options.  Because mini sessions are only 25 minutes long, I try to keep them in one location, within a small area at that location, so that I can focus more on capturing great photos and not spend any of the time I have with clients roaming around looking for new spots.  Mini sessions are also less expensive than full sessions, but are much less flexible as well.  I decide the location of my mini sessions, and for full sessions, I have clients weigh in on what they are looking for, and what locations would work best for them.

Mini sessions aren’t something I can always guarantee I will offer, but to stay in the loop for when I do offer them, please hop over to my facebook page and “like” it so that you are notified when I offer them.  Since I do only offer them 1-2 times a year, they tend to go quickly once the slots are opened.  You can find me on facebook by clicking here.

Here is a preview of the  sessions from Virginia.  Virginia really did have all the beautiful leaves!
