Outside of newborns, and family sessions, I also really enjoy milestone photography sessions. When to do your milestone photography sessions depends on what you’d like to capture. I’ve seen people do newborn, 6 months, and 12 months, and I’ve seen people do newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months…whatever you decide, milestone photography is a great way to capture your quickly changing baby in their first year of life! Three-four month milestone sessions capture babies like this cutie, holding their heads up by themselves, and smiling..usually big, gummy smiles! Six month milestone sessions may be sitter sessions if your little one is sitting up already, or that may be what we capture at a nine month milestone session. At one year milestone photography sessions, some babies are walking, others are thinking about it!
Four Months Old
Four month olds are some of my favorites to photograph. Even though they aren’t sitting up yet, they often aren’t afraid of strangers yet either. This little cutie was no exception. He smiled, giggled, and was just the easiest baby to work with ever. He was also super chunky and adorable! Milestone sessions are a good bit shorter than newborn sessions. These sessions usually last about an hour.
When the weather is nice, it’s great to do this type of session outdoors. Most babies really enjoy being outside and it is a nice distraction from the new person trying to take their pictures! If the weather isn’t nice, or if it’s just a personal preference, I am happy and able to do milestone sessions in my Atlanta area studio.
