Brothers

I adore being able to capture the relationship between brothers.  These two handsome boys also happen to live across the street from us.  They are also friends with my two oldest kids.  Not to mention, that on any given day, my 5 year old daughter “LOVES” one, or both of them.

We did this session at sunset at one of my favorite local spots in the Atlanta area.  While I do get a kick out of photographing kids that we know personally, it also makes me nervous!  I am sometimes left wondering if they know me too well!  Luckily, this session did not leave me wondering that at all.  These cuties did great!

When to schedule your family session

There really isn’t a time that I would say to avoid as far as scheduling a family session.  My favorite times of year are spring, summer, and fall.  I find, especially living in GA, that the grass gets pretty brown by November, and the weather is more unpredictable between Nov-Feb. If it’s a nice back drop you’re looking for, and more agreeable temperatures, I suggest spring and fall.  Summer sunsets are pretty amazing, so if you can tolerate the southern heat, summer is also a time of year to consider.

As far as time of day, I’ve said this before, but sunrise and sunset are the most beautifully lit times of day.  However, if your kids are younger, and aren’t very agreeable at the end of the day, it’s more important to pick a time of day where you know your kids will be happy, and I will find great light around that.
