Atlanta Family Photographer | Baseball Field Session

Atlanta Family Photographer

This session was definitely one of the more unique sessions I’ve done as an Atlanta Family Photographer.  When I first talked to Michelle and she told me that she wanted to do her family pictures on the baseball field, I’ll be honest, I was a bit hesitant.  It’s a bit different than my typical session, where people get dressed up, and pose a little, and sometimes even put kids in itchy sweaters.  I get it, I do that too for my family pictures. Michelle told me they are ALWAYS at the baseball field, because both of her boys play baseball.  She said it seemed fitting to do their family photos there as well.

Once I brainstormed a little, and searched online for a few ideas, I started to get excited about this session.   I’m always a little nervous when I step outside of my comfort zone on a session.  But I was very happy with how these turned out, and doing something different was so much fun.

Baseball Field Session

I so enjoy getting to be an Atlanta Family Photographer.   I had never done a session on a baseball field before, and it truly was so much fun.  The family brought their dogs to the session, and then had a friend take them when we finished the part that included the dogs.  This is a great idea family pets are included in the session.

After the pets left, the kids just played.  I had such a great time photographing them as they played in their element.  On the pitchers mound, running the bases, with their bats and gloves.  What better way to freeze this time for their family than to capture them AS they actually are right now.   Call me if you are interested in a baseball field session, or any other session that you think would be meaningful to your family.

How to plan for your family session

As an Atlanta Family Photographer, people often ask me when the best time is to schedule their family sessions.  Some of this depends on the ages of your children.  The absolute best times of day to do photos are either in the morning as the sun is coming up, or in the evening, around an hour before sunset.  I prefer sunset.   That isn’t to say that if you have very young children that I can’t do your session earlier in the day.  I’ll gladly take happy children over a sunset:)  I usually try to schedule sessions around a month in advance if possible.  Scheduling your session as much in advance as possible so that you can get the date and time you desire.

Once you get the time and date scheduled for your session, it’s time to pick your clothes:)  For a session like this,  wearing baseball tees was perfect!  I can help you style and select clothes for your session once you schedule it if you’d like.
