As an Acworth Newborn Photographer, I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love. I have always adored babies. I have 4 crazy kids of my own, and now that we are leaving the baby phase, I find it even more enjoyable to snuggle other peoples little bundles while I capture those special and fleeting moments for new parents.
I first met Malaine when she was just a few hours old for her Fresh 48 session. I really enjoy doing Fresh 48 sessions. Those are a little more lifestyle and a lot less posed. I try to do those in 30-45 minutes in the hospital, and just capture those early hours of life for families. You can see Malaine’s Fresh 48 sessions here.
Scheduling a newborn session
It is most ideal to schedule your newborn photos ahead of time, and the most ideal time to take newborn photos is during the first 2 weeks of life. Babies are the most sleepy and easiest to pose during this time frame. This little bundle has 2 big brothers that are coming back to my studio later this week for some sibling pictures!
Of course, often when scheduling a newborn session, it’s impossible to know the exact date you’d like to schedule your session. Simply book your session with me, I will pencil in your due date, and then we will talk once the baby arrives and schedule your newborn session. It is most ideal to do newborn sessions under 2 weeks of age. That said, some babies are very agreeable at 3-4 weeks of age, so don’t feel like you’ve missed your window if you didn’t have your session set up earlier. It just may take a little more time and patience with older babies! Newborn sessions often take 2-3 hours so that we can be sure to give baby enough time to snack and snuggle with mom as needed. I also make sure I keep my studio nice and warm. Parents are welcome to be in the studio with me, or if it’s too warm, the room right next to the studio has a comfy sofa if parents would rather relax while I handle the pictures!
