Every year, for the past 3 years, I’ve held mini sessions for World down syndrome day. World down syndrome day is on 3-21 every year. The mini sessions started when a friend of mine, who has a little boy with down syndrome, asked me if I’d mind taking a quick picture of her son, so she could have something current of him to post as her profile picture for World down syndrome day. I said sure, but why don’t you see if other people would want to do this as well. Last year (thank you covid) I had to cancel, but this is the 3rd time I’ve been able to do these mini sessions.
Locally, the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta does a lot to help families that have children with down syndrome. If you’re interested in learning more about what they do, click here.
This day, is truly one of the most fun days of the entire year for me. I adore these kids, and their fun personalities, and their families, and siblings as well. Gus-we call him our tiny mouse, because he is named after Gus Gus on Cinderella and
Dex-Dex loves music and knows all the words to Ain’t No Man by the Avett Brothers.

Jake-Jake is super social, definitely loves to make people smile, and has dance moves like no other. He enjoys school, karate, and anything and everything to do with the beach.
Kristine-Kristine goes by Tine (pronounced Teeny) Tine loves cats, ice cream, and Disney.
Jackson-Jackson’s nickname is the mayor because at school (or anywhere really) he walks down the hall smiling and waving to everyone! I met this cutie when he was just 4 months old and fresh out of the NICU and have SO enjoyed watching him grow!
Zachary-Zachary has the best personality. He loves to make people laugh and he loves music so much! He once won a singing contest! His passion is sports and he has truly missed participating this past year due to covid. Zach was born weighing 1 lb 14 oz and has endured over 27 surgeries! He truly is a miracle!
Vivian-Vivian loves Bubble Guppies, flash cards, and books. Her favorite thing to eat is goldfish. She does not like cake or brownies. She turned 3 on 3-16 and just recently had her first day of preschool as well!
Sutton-Sutton loves to be outdoors. She’d stay at the park all day if allowed. She loves to dance, run, jump, spin, and has never met an ice cream she didn’t like. She also adores her big sister, and now that he doesn’t cry as much, her little brother too.
Max-Max is a born performer and absolutely loves to dance and make people laugh. Max can recognize all his letters and write them too. His Memaw has been teaching him how to read during virtual learning. Max was adopted from China when he was 2.5 yrs old and perfectly completed his family.
Jude-Jude is a natural artist and loves to paint and draw-on paper, the magna doodle, ipad, or even the walls. All are blank canvases to him. he loves to play hide-n-seek and to pull pranks on his family. Jude loves to sing. Especially if a microphone is available. Jude is also a born encourager. He is always giving fist bumps and telling someone “you’re the best!”
Max and Jude are both in kindergarten this year. Both Max and Jude love to wrestle and play ball with their big brother, MT. They love to create videos and fun projects with their sister, Mikayla. They love going to the beach, camping, and playing games.
Hudson-Hudson is very social, great at basketball, and NEVER meets a stranger. He’s also hilarious!
