Being a newborn photographer Marietta means I get to spend lots of time with adorable, cuddly babies. I love all the precious little ones who come through my studio. Knowing that they’re all blank slates, with bright, beautiful futures that are still unknown before them makes taking their photos even more exciting.

What to expect at your newborn photographer Marietta session

A newborn photography session usually lasts about 2-3 hours. I typically recommend that parents keep their newborn awake before the session, as this makes it easier to get them to sleep during the session. A sleeping baby makes for a faster session. But if your little one isn’t sleepy, that’s okay! We can still have a wonderful session and get amazing photos.

If you want photos with parents, older siblings, or other family members, we usually get those out of the way first. This allows everyone else to head out for lunch or to a playground and keeps the studio less crowded and quieter for your newborn so they can settle down.

Some newborns need frequent breaks for snacks, diaper changes, or just a snuggle with Mommy, and that’s fine too. We work around your baby’s needs, not the other way around.

Many parents express worry over the baby being cold. You don’t need to worry about that at all. I keep my studio very warm, at about 85 degrees. It might get a tad bit uncomfortable for you or me, but your newborn will be very toasty, regardless of their pose or attire.

What you should bring to the session

Aside from bringing your baby, the only things you need to bring to your newborn photographer Marietta photo shoot is diapers, a pacifier if your baby is attached to it, and bottles if you need them to feed the baby.

I have tons of props, clothes, and other things for the shoot, so you don’t need to worry about any of that. If you have something that’s sentimental to you or you want included in some photos for other reasons, feel free to bring it. I’m happy to include it. But in general, you don’t need to worry about bringing anything but the basic necessities.
