Newborn Photographer Atlanta

As a newborn photographer Atlanta, I have the honor of meeting some of Atlanta’s newest and cutest residents in their first couple of weeks!  Sweet Blake was about 2 weeks old when she came to see me for her studio newborn session.  Blake is the youngest of three!  Her big sister and big brother were so cute and so proud of their new baby.  We decided to do the sibling pictures on the bed for Blake’s session.  Often, with siblings that aren’t very old yet, the bed is a great place for shots of them all together so that baby is safe at all times.

Tips for Photographing Siblings with a Newborn

Being a newborn photographer Atlanta is a very rewarding job for me.  I get to get my baby fix, and get to capture a very special time for newly expanding families.  Capturing siblings with a new baby can be tricky, but is also very special.  New babies completely change the family dynamic.  Depending on the age of big brother or big sister, this can be a difficult time.  It’s important to remember all the changes that are taking place, when you bring older siblings to participate in newborn photos.  Making the sibling part of the session as much about big brother/sister as possible, and how great they’re doing is key to success for the session.  If they aren’t interested in holding the baby, that’s completely fine.  There are other ways to get adorable shots of siblings together.

When you come with older siblings for a newborn session, a great idea is to have something fun and special, just for them, to do after their part of the session is finished.  This helps keep the focus about what a great big brother or sister they are being to the new baby.  Having dad or grandparents whisk them away for something fun also helps keep the studio nice and quiet for the remainder of the session when we’re just focusing on the baby.

When to Schedule your Newborn Session

I schedule newborns anytime between the 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy.  I take a limited number of sessions so that I am not over booked, so it is important if you want to book a session with me, to try to book in advance as much as possible.  This also helps me style your session.   Once you have booked a session with me, since baby due dates are a tricky thing, I pencil your due date onto my calendar.  Simply let me know as soon as baby arrives, and we will schedule your newborn photographer Atlanta session sometime in the next 1-3 weeks.

What do I Need for My Newborn Session?

I have everything we will need for your session in my studio, except for milk for your baby.  Just bring the baby, yourself, and food for baby, and we are all set!

I would love the opportunity to capture your sweet newborn and growing family.  Please call or email me today to talk about your session!  You can also click here to contact me!
