Atlanta Newborn Photographer
Let me just say again, that I LOVE my job as an Atlanta newborn photographer. This sweet family is absolutely one of my favorites. I met them as clients, and this sweet Mama and I just hit it off. My kids LOVE her babies, and I do as well. You can see her beautiful maternity session by clicking here. And I’m SO far behind on blogging, that I’ll soon be posting baby Nate’s 6 month session.
My oldest two kids are about 16 months apart. It brings back such sweet memories when I see families having kids that are close together.
When do I schedule my Atlanta newborn photographer session?
Ideally, newborn sessions take place during the first 2 weeks of baby’s life. However, I completely understand that sometimes mama and baby need a little bit longer to adjust to the newness of it all. I am confident I can get babies up to 1 month old to sleep, but my preference, is closer to that 2 week range so that they are sleepy, and more easy to curl up.
The newborn sessions take place at my Kennesaw area home studio on weekday mornings. Currently, I only take newborns Monday-Thursday mornings, but next year, I will be taking newborns Monday-Friday mornings. All sessions start at 9:30 a.m. and end no later than 12:45 p.m.
Should I bring anything?
The short answer to this question is no. If you have something special that you’d like to incorporate into your Atlanta newborn photographer session, that is absolutely fine. However, I LOVE buying props, and wraps, and tiny pillows, and cute baby clothes..so everything you see in these images, is something that is mine, and would be available for use during a session. (aside from the hat with his name on it) I have a very particular style, and love purchasing things that stay within the parameters of that style. I also seek out vendors that I have used before, so that I can be sure that the outfits or props are just the right size for a small newborn baby.
Can I include sibling/family photos in my newborn session?
ABSOLUTELY you can! What I typically recommend, is that everyone comes for the start of the session. That way, if baby needs some time to fall asleep, this can happen during the family photos. I prefer to do the sibling and family photos first, so that big siblings don’t get too bored. Once we are finished with that part (usually 30-45 minutes is all it takes) it is a great idea for Dad or grandma or a babysitter to take big brother or sister to a playground, to get lunch..whatever works for some quality time. This also clears out the studio space and makes it nice and quiet for mom to relax, and baby to sleep for the remainder of the session.
I truly LOVE every bit of what I do as an Atlanta newborn photographer and am happy to answer any questions you may have. If you’d like to book a session with me, you can do so by filling out my contact form here. I hope to see you soon!
