When Gabe came to my Atlanta area studio for posed newborn photos, his session went so well that I could hardly contain my excitement. He was such a good little sleeper, he barely stirred for his entire session. He even slept right through the parent photos.
When I first started shooting newborns more often, parent shots weren’t something I did very often. I think lots of new parents are just so tired that it doesn’t occur to them to be in the photos. I LOVE parent shots for posed newborn photos. Gabe’s parents were so adorable, and over the moon in love with him. I never get tired of seeing how doting new parents are over their babies. I encourage new parents to at least be in a couple of photos with their babies. This is such a precious time, and they grow and change so fast. I wish I had done professional photos when my kids were this young.
How to Prepare
Prior to a newborn session, I always send my clients a parent prep letter. This letter has some simple, but very helpful tips that parents can do the few hours before they arrive, to help make sure baby is as sleepy for their session as possible. I keep my studio space very warm to help the babies stay sleepy and comfortable. I do warn new moms that 85 degrees inside can feel a bit warm (HOT) and to dress accordingly!
Gabe| Posed Newborn Photos
Please enjoy a little peek at Gabe’s posed newborn photos. Some were more natural than others, I try to follow what the baby is wanting to do as far as positions, poses, and when I stop for feedings. If you’d like to find out more about me, how my sessions run, or how to book a session, you can contact me here. I would be honored to capture your newborn session.
