As a Baby Photographer Atlanta, one of my favorite things about this job is getting to watch my clients grow. I met sweet Gabe when he was 14 days new.

Gabe was one of the sweetest and most easy babies I have ever photographed. Gabe barely made a peep for his newborn session. It didn’t hurt that his mama and I clicked instantly and have since become friends.

When to Schedule Your Milestone Session

Gabe came to see me for his “sitter session”. A sitter session, is a milestone session that I offer for babies that are around 6-9 months old. The session is most ideally done when the baby is a pretty sturdy sitter, but hopefully, before they begin to crawl and are harder to capture! Milestone sessions can be anytime you, as their parent, would like. I usually suggest doing them either at 6 months and a year, or 4 months, 8 months, and 12 months. I feel like this gives babies more time to change some in between sessions, without feeling like you’re going too long without pictures. What to Expect for Your Milestone Session

Milestone sessions are generally much shorter in time, than a newborn or family session. Since the focus of a baby photographer atlanta session is usually just baby, and I’m not trying to get the baby to sleep like I am in a newborn session, milestone sessions are usually 30-45 minutes. I typically do sitter sessions (and really any milestone session for babies under a year) at my studio. Occasionally I’ll do sitter sessions outdoors, but new sitters are very easily distracted by things like…grass, birds, etc.

As far as props, outfits, etc. I do keep a good number of those things here for sitters. If you have something in mind that you’d like for your baby to wear, please feel free to bring it. I have a certain style of things that I like, and I purchase those types of items. I generally keep sitter sessions simple, so that the focus of the images is your adorable baby.
