Atlanta Newborn Photographer

I truly love being an Atlanta newborn photographer.  What a treat to get to snuggle beautiful babies like this one, for my job!  Myra came to see me when she was just under 2 weeks old.  Between birth and 2 weeks is when I recommend trying to do your newborn photos.

Myra has the best head of hair and was just the sweetest baby.  She hardly made a peep!

How to choose your Atlanta Newborn Photographer

I realize I may not be available for everyone’s newborn session.  Here are some tips to consider when you are selecting your newborn photographer.

  • Has the photographer been trained in newborn posing?  I have traveled to go to hands on weekend workshops .  While at the workshop, I learned how to safely pose and handle babies.
  • Do you like the photographer’s portfolio?  My website portrays a very accurate look at what my style, and pictures will be like.  While I am open to parents ideas and suggestions, there are some things I just don’t do, or aren’t my style.  We all have our own unique style, so it’s very important to make sure you view your potential photographers portfolio of work, and are happy with what you see.
  • Is it easy to communicate with your photographer?  I am HUGE on communication.  While I can’t always call my clients, b/c I still have young children who are often at home, I am usually very quick to respond to emails.  I like for my clients to be at ease with the person who they are handing their newborn baby to.

When to schedule your newborn session?

Often, I can book up pretty far in advance, so I recommend scheduling your newborn session in the 2nd-3rd trimesters of pregnancy. I do offer maternity + newborn packages, so if you are planning ahead and would like to book a package, there is a pretty significant savings to book that way.  I only offer newborn sessions on weekdays, so getting on my schedule ahead of time really helps me be sure I’m able to accommodate everyone.  Newborn sessions usually take place in the fist 5-20 days of like.  My preference is to get newborn sessions done in the first 5-14 days, but I understand that often with babies, the unexpected happens.

What a newborn session looks like..

I do most of my newborn sessions at 9:30 a.m. Sessions can last anywhere from 2-3 hours depending on how sleepy baby is, and whether or not there are parent or sibling pictures as well.  I keep my studio nice and toasty to help baby feel comfortable, and run a variety of soothing sounds as well.  Once your session is over, I will get you a preview from your session within a few days.  From there, your images will be delivered to you in 2-4 weeks.

I would love to be your newborn photographer.  Please contact me to schedule your session now!  If you have any questions regarding setting up a session, I can be reached via email at lindsley@appleseedphotography.com or you can call me at 678-653-1421.
